Yesterday, I was working out in our gym in the stable with our personal trainer Jennifer. My husband Stan joined us for a bit as he is wont to do. He did a couple of pull-ups and lifted some weights. As he was leaving, I asked him if he knew what my latest favorite song is.

Jennifer and I got a laugh out of the grimace he made when I told him the name is "Don't Let the Old Man In." I played the song for Jennifer and told her the history behind it as we continued with my workout.

🧑🏼‍🦽💪 The Story Behind the Song

One day in May 2018, the country western singer Toby Keith was playing golf with Clint Eastwood.

At one point, Eastwood said to Keith, “I turn 88 on Monday.” [Toby Keith would turn 57 the following month.]

Keith asked, “What are you going to do?”

Eastwood replied, “I’m going to shoot a movie, with filming to begin the following week.”

Keith asked him, “What keeps you going?”

Eastwood replied, “I get up every day and don’t let the old man in.”

Keith went home that day and wrote a song. He sent it to Clint and hoped that he would consider it.

And Clint did.

The song's title is "Don't Let the Old Man In," and Clint made a video of himself with Toby Keith singing the song in the background.

After news that he hasn’t been seen in public for a while, many fans started wondering whether Clint Eastwood has gone missing.

With a career spanning over 60 years, Eastwood is one of the most famous Hollywood stars, with iconic roles listed to his name and several accolades, including Academy Awards and Golden Globes.

Moreover, Eastwood made history as the oldest actor to star in a leading role. At the age of 91, he played in the 2021 HBO Max movie Cry Macho, which he also produced and directed.

The actor is not missing as of April 2023. At the age of 92, the star of A Fistful of Dollars has opted to stay away from the public and media spotlight.

His most recent public appearance was on February 6, 2022, when he attended the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at Pebble Beach Golf Links, California.

Clint Eastwood will turn 93 on May 31, 2023.
